My grandfather is the hero of the Second World War.

   Today I made a startling discovery in my grandfather's biography http://www.podvignaroda.mil.ru/. It turns out that he was a hero of the Great Second World War.

I found published documents in the archive about his award.
He received the Order of the Star in 1944 for having repaired the tank that was hit by German aircraft during the battle and performing the combat tasks.

And he received the Order of Fame in 1945 for winning one of the next battle.

He was never talking about the War. He was never watching movies about the War, because he thought, that everything shown there was not true, there was a lot of agitation.
All that I knew about him, is that he was a mechanic - tank driver. I am very proud of my grandfather.
Thanks to all people who fought in the War for giving me the opportunity to appear in this World.
My grandmother came to concentration camp in Germany immediately after the occupation of Poland. She was lucky, she survived, because she was born in Poland. The Germans treated such people leniently. The Poles women just cleaned German's houses and didn't do hard labor at the camp.

She is alive now, she is 89 years old. My grandmother is very active and I wish health for her.
